Pelikan Souverän M809 fountain pen in matte black. All black – black barrel, black cap, black trim, black nib. The finish is textured, making it comfortable and easy to hold. The cap is polished and smooth, for a contrast in textures. Pelikan call it “a design statement in deep, uncompromising black”. And that sounds a bit dramatic, but it’s a pretty dramatic-looking pen.Admittedly it would be the pen of choice for Darth Vader; but also for Batman, Disaster Area, the Men In Black, and Granny Weatherwax.
